We would like to thank our mums, our dads... and you

It is normal for people to thank their loved ones when receiving win an award. But we would like to thank you.

The World Branding Forum announced the winners of its 2016 World Branding Awards in September and the British Council was recognised as Brand of the Year for Education and English language.

Jane Kandasamy, our Internal Communications Manager, and Tatiana Shashkova, our Brand Compliance Officer, had the pleasure of accepting the award at Kensington Palace on behalf of the British Council.

From over 2,600 brands in 35 countries, winners were judged on three criteria: brand valuation, consumer market research, and public online voting. With 70 per cent of the scoring weighted on the public vote, we really do owe our win to you.

From a nominated list of 2,600 brands from 35 countries, winners were selected through a three-part process involving valuation by the World Branding Forum, a consumer research project and an on-line vote open to all. A significant 70 per cent of the scoring process came directly from consumer voters . So it is you who saw our hard work and passion… It is you who recognise us as a leading brand in English… it is YOU.

So…

Thank you.

Thank you.

Thank you.

The Awards celebrates the achievements of some of the greatest brands around the globe. With 70 per cent of the scoring process coming from consumer votes, winning brands have managed to build a good trust score with their consumers,' said Richard Rowles, Chairman of the World Branding Forum.
