The British Council is organising Turkey-UK Higher Education Strategic Partnerships Forum in London in partnership with the Council of Higher Education Turkey.

The aims of this forum are:

  • sharing new developments and discussing strategic priorities in higher education for Turkey and the UK and identifying areas for future collaboration.
  • developing new connections between UK and Turkish higher education leaders.

The forum includes high-level participation from policymakers and leaders from the UK and the top 13 research universities in Turkey: Ankara University, Bilkent University, Boğaziçi University, Erciyes University, Gebze Technical University, Hacettepe University, Istanbul University, Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa, Istanbul Technical University, İzmir Institute of Technology, Koç University, Middle East Technical University and Sabancı University.

This is the first forum of its kind in the UK, bringing together Turkish and UK university leaders and policy-makers. A memorandum of understanding will be signed between the British Council and the Council of Higher Education Turkey at the end of the forum to further develop the relations in Higher Education partnership.

A similar follow-up forum is planned to take place in Turkey later in 2019.
