Fi Scott

Fi is a manufacturing geek and the founder of Make Works, which she started while studying product design at Glasgow School of Art. On graduating, she spent three months in a VW Campervan; finding, filming and photographing the factories and industry of Scotland. The following year she led a team to build an open-access digital directory, something like a public library so that designers and artists can discover the relevant skilled people, places, tools and materials to make, manufacture or repair anything in their local area. Fi believes that information about manufacturers should be open, inspiring and available for everyone, making it easier to make things locally. The project has been featured in Core77, MakeZine and Tech for Good. Last year it was listed as one of the Nominet trust’s best uses of a .co.ukdomain.
