Alper Kaliber

Alper first studied in the UK between 2003 and 2004 having received the Jean Monnet scholarship to the the University of Birmingham. He then conducted post-doctoral research in political science and international relations, also at the University of Birmingham, between 2006 and 2008.

Before this, Alper Kaliber completed his PhD at Bilkent University. He has taught modules on Turkey-EU relations, European security, foreign policy analysis and international relations theory at Istanbul Bilgi University, the University of Birmingham, Yasar University and Sabancı University.

He currently works as a senior lecturer in the Department of International Relations at Istanbul Kemerburgaz University. Previously, he conducted a two year research project as a Marie Curie research fellow in the European Institute at Istanbul Bilgi University. 

Alper Kaliber has also received several grants and awards including the Young Scientist Award by Turkey’s Science Academy in 2014 and the Sakıp Sabancı International Research Award in 2011.
