Açık Radio programme series episode one: Women power in arts and culture

The first episode of Açık Radio Programme Series which was broadcast on 11 May 2020 introduced the programme as the preliminary event of the WOW – Women of the World Festival Istanbul and opened the results of the Women Power in Culture Research into discussion with İlkay Baliç, Director of Communications at Arter and the editor and translator Ceren Yartan. Read a summary of the programme and listen to the podcast.

İlkay Baliç

İlkay Baliç studied urban planning and sociology. She has been working in civil society and culture as a researcher, writer, editor and coordinator both independently and in affiliation with various institutions. Since 2015, Baliç is serving as Arter’s Director of Communications.

Ceren Yartan

With degrees from Sabancı University’s Cultural Studies Program and comparative literature at Washington University in St.Louis with a Fulbright scholar, Ceren Yartan works as an editor and translator for the Centre for Spatial Justice and hosts a podcast titled 11 Dakika [11 Minutes] where she discusses a wide range of topics on the human condition.
