Açık Radio programme series episode three: Home at the time of pandemic

The guests of the third program, that broadcasted on 8 June were Ülker Uncu, Director of Boğaziçi Performing Arts Ensemble Organisation and Zeynep Aydemir Koyuncu, Programme Manager at United Nations Women. 

Uncu and Koyuncu talked about the revealed circumstances and how women are effected from staying indoors where we have taken refuge in this era of pandemic.

Zeynep Aydemir Koyuncu graduated from Boğaziçi University Department of Political Sciences and International Relations. She completed her master’s studies on European Union Politics at London School of Economics and Political Science. During her high school and university education, Koyuncu was active in civil society and worked on youth rights. She worked 15 years at the European Union Delegation to Turkey and implemented number of projects within the areas of social policies and employment. She took part in Turkey's EU Accession Negotiations. Koyuncu joined UN Women in 2018 and has been working as a programme manager for gender sensitive refugee response programme. 

Ülker Uncu - Boğaziçi Performing Arts Ensemble Organisation

As a student at the Department of Economics of the Boğaziçi University, Ülker Uncu became one of the founding members of the Boğaziçi Performing Arts Ensemble that acclaimed recognition and professionalism with their works on theatre, music and publishing. Following her music career as an accordion player for 15 years with Kardeş Türküler (Songs of Fraternity), that is renowned music project of the ensemble with the goal of fraternizing and celebrating all the different ethnic cultures and music in Anatolia, Mesopotamia and Balkans, Uncu has taken over the management establishing BGST Organization in 2009 and representing the ensemble ever since. She is one of the programmers of Nilufer Jazz Holiday and Nilufer Music Festival since 2016. Since1992, Uncu has also been a member and an active contributor to the Feminist Women Circle initiative that works within the realm of arts and culture.
